As January marks the start of a new year on our calendars, it also marks the time for an update on the TeenHub Makerspace at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library! Care to take a sneak peek at some of the new materials we have available in 2025?

Teens can now access:

  • 3-D Filament Pens (with expanded PLA filament library)
  • A 5” Sticker Press
  • Acrylic Paint & Paint Pens
  • Beads and Charms (expanded variety)
  • Book-Binding Kits
  • Bracelet Weaving Tools
  • More Colors & Styles of Yarn
  • Cotton Fabric
  • Felt
  • Knitting Loom Hoop Set
  • Metallic Watercolor Paints
  • New Pencil Sharpeners
  • Paracord Bracer Kits
  • Pin-Backs (for Acrylic/Shrink Plastic Pin-Making)
  • Scrapbook Paper (assorted)
  • Screw Punch Toolkit
  • Sculpting Tool Kit and Clay
  • Water-Based Brush Markers
  • And that’s not all…

Teens can still utilize our pre-existing catalogue of materials like illustration and comic-making supplies, stationary and creative writing tools, bike-repair kits, beading and jewelry making supplies, circuit-building kits, LEGOs, 3-D Printing technology, knitting, crocheting, sewing equipment and more! As teens explore their creative interests, they may discover entirely new fields that they connect with; the Makerspace is a wonderful place to broaden your horizons and have fun!

I challenge all teens to try at least one new material in their art, crafting, and experimenting this year! If you create something in the TeenHub Makerspace you’d like to share, you can tag the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library @ccjplibrary on TikTok or @ccjpl on Instagram! (Be sure to use the hashtag, #TeenHubMakerSpace, too!)

Have a new medium you’d like to try out that you don’t see in our inventory? We do our best to accommodate TeenHub Makerspace material requests, so feel free to leave a suggestion at the Teen Desk for what you’d like to see in your Makerspace going forward!

Remember: In order to use the Makerspace, Teens (7th-12th Grade) will need an active library card or a school/photo ID to sign in – ask your parent or guardian about getting a library card today!
