Teens Can Craft, Create, & Color Our World This Summer!
Summer’s in full swing and our Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) is too!
You may have participated in SRC when you were younger, but did you know that we also have an SRC Program just for teens? With hot Summer Reads to explore and a whole lineup of teens-only free workshops and programs, why not sign up for a chance to earn prizes, too?
It only takes a minute to sign up – here’s a little more information about Teen SRC 2025!
How to sign up for SRC:
You can sign up at the Teen or Youth Services Desk at CCJPL. Your librarian will ask you a few questions to get you registered, and then you can receive your SRC Challenge Card and Registration Prize!
How to Use your Challenge Card
Your Challenge Card is your personal point tracker for SRC. You can get points for logging time spent reading, Teen Programs you attend, or by completing Bonus Quests! The SRC theme this year is “Color Our World” so the challenge and programs we offer will be themed around art and design; Bonus Quests can include everything from upcycling art projects to crafting your own poem or short film, trying a new tabletop game, or going on a mindfulness hike!

Stay tuned for more SRC Programming in July!
Each time you mark off a new goal on your Challenge Card, be sure to tally up your points! (You’ll need to report your points to the Teen or Youth Services Desk at CCJPL by July 23, 2025 or earlier.) However, don’t feel like you have to do EVERYTHING on your point tracker – start with the challenges that seem like the most fun to you, and then curate your own SRC experience!
How to Earn Prizes
Ok, here’s the big question: how can I win as many prizes as possible this Summer?
- Every Teen who registers for SRC can pick up a Registration Prize.
- Every Teen who reports at least 100 points total by July 23rd can pick up a Completion Prize.
- The top ten point-earners (with points reported by July 23rd) will receive an invitation to the Teen End-of-Summer Lock-In Party.
- The top two point earners (with points reported by July 23rd) will each win a Grand Prize for first and second place, respectively.
To be clear, Teens can report points to the Teen or Children’s Desk as frequently as needed – just make sure you report all points you’ve earned by or before July 23rd! Even once you pick up your Completion Prize at the 100 point marker, you can continue to report points up until that deadline to try to win a Grand Prize!
So, what are you waiting for?
Let’s Color our World together at your Library this Summer – we’ll see you there!
