Library To Go
As we know, libraries are meant for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Since starting my job at the library, it has been my goal to make the library more accessible to as many people in our community as possible. The reality is, there are readers in Jonesboro that have lost easy access to books due to not being able to leave their home whether that be due to physical and health limitations or financial constraints. It is with the Library To Go service, that I hope we are continuing to bridge that gap. I love to read and I love our library, so I want to share that love and the magic of reading with as many people as I can!
Library To Go is a free delivery service for patrons who live within Jonesboro city limits and are homebound due to age, illness, or disability. Qualifying patrons will have the opportunity to have up to four books delivered to their home on the first and third Monday of each month. Participants will add books that they are interested in reading to a book list and library staff will pull available books from that list for each delivery.
Since this is a new program, we do have limited spots available at this time. So, I encourage you to apply soon! If you apply and are unable to be a part of the original number of participants, you will be placed on a waitlist and will be notified when a spot is available.
I am so excited for this opportunity to bring the library to you and even more members of our community. I hope that you are just as excited! We at the library strive to reach everyone in the community. Library To Go does just that.
