Craighead County Libraries 2025 Year in Review
If you walked through our doors in 2025, you were part of a much bigger story.
This year was defined by connection. From families attending programs to students finding study spaces, job seekers using resources, and lifelong readers checking out their next stack of books, our library remained a steady and welcoming place for the community.
We welcomed familiar faces and first-time visitors alike, each one contributing to the energy that fills our spaces every day. Materials moved quickly from our shelves into homes, classrooms, and hands eager to learn.
Here is a look at the impact our community made:
• 163,922 Patrons Served
• 126,411 Physical Items Checked Out
• 179,954 eBooks Checked Out
But these numbers only tell part of the story. Behind every checkout is a child discovering a new series, a patron learning a new skill, or someone finding a moment of escape in a good book.
I keep coming back to that first number. 163,922 patrons served. Wow. It is such a privilege to encounter and serve so many people each day. Our programs continue to prove essential in the lives of our patrons, creating opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. We take a lot of pride in being part of that. Our patrons mean a whole lot to us. More than they know.
Our patrons also made their voices heard through this year’s Top Titles. Across Adult, Young Adult, Juvenile, and eBook categories, popular selections reflected a wide range of interests, proving there truly is something for everyone at the library.
On a personal note, I read Onyx Storm and The Let Them Theory this year, both of which I rated highly myself. If you have not picked up a Mel Robbins book, I highly recommend it. The Let Them Theory is a perfect read for the beginning of a year. Check it out, on us!
As we move into a new year, Craighead County Libraries remains focused on growing alongside our community by expanding access, strengthening collections, and continuing to create spaces where people feel welcome to gather, learn, and explore.
Thank you for being part of our 2025 story. We cannot wait to show you what is in store for 2026.
