The summer at the library is all about space and the universe this year!  All of the branch libraries located in Poinsett and Craighead Counties will host special programs - the University Heights Lions Club will offer free vision screenings this summer at the following locations:

June 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Poinsett County Public Library in Harrisburg
June 13th at 2:00 p.m. at West Poinsett County Library at Weiner
June 18th at 2:30 p.m. at the Kohn Memorial Public Library in Monette
June 20th at 2:30 p.m. at Goldsby Public Library in Lepanto
June 25th at 4:00 p.m. at the Caraway Public Library
July 16th at 2:30 p.m. at the McAdams Public Library in Lake City
July 18th at 1:30 p.m. at Marked Tree Public Library

Healthy vision is something many take for granted. In most cases, we don’t know that there is a problem until something happens to point it out. The way your child sees the world is the only way they know - they might not realize there could, in fact, be a problem. For the screenings, the Lions Club members will use a SPOT vision screening device that takes a “snapshot” of a child’s eyes. If they see any abnormalities, they will print a form for a child’s parent or guardian to take to an eye doctor.
