The Marked Tree Public Library will host movie nights every Friday at 4:00 p.m. The library is located at 102 Locust in Marked Tree.

Author of the book "Haunted Jonesboro" and guide a tour of downtown Jonesboro by the same name, Edward Underwood will be leading an evening of Scary Campfire Stories on Friday, July 13th starting at 4 p.m. in the Round Room of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.  Snacks will also be provided.

The Kohn Memorial Public Library will host two days of teen events during Summer Reading Club. The two days will be held on June 11th and July 16th at 1:00 p.m. The library is located at 103 South Edmonds Street in Monette.

The Caraway Public Library will host two teen craft days this summer!  come to the library on Monday, June 11th and Monday, June 16th to make a craft of your own.

This class starts at 6 p.m. every Monday and meets in the library in the non-fiction section. This is for experienced knitters and for beginners. If you're a beginner, don't worry about bringing anything, we'll supply you with needles and yarn.

The Children's Library will be hosting book discussion groups for 3rd and 4th graders during the months of June and July. The discussion is open to the first 12 students per session that register. Paperback books will be provided by the Friends of the Library for participants to keep if participating in the discussion. The books we'll be reading will be posted in the next week.

Join us on Wednesday, July 18th for a performance by the Wild Goose Chase Theater.  You can catch the show at 10 am. at the Parker Park Community Center or at 2 p.m. at The Mall at Turtle Creek.  This performance will feature shadow puppets.

For this Lunch and Learn event, Mimi Cox of the Master Gardener's club will lead a class on invasive plants in Arkansas.  Lunch and Learn is a free class taught every Wednesday at noon in the Round Room of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.  We ask that you bring in your lunch and prepare to learn! These classes are really fun and best of all - FREE!

Our annual Genealogy Night Lock-In will be held on Thursday, July 19th.  The lock-in starts at 6 p.m. and goes until midnight.  Join us for an evening of beginner research, special speakers, expert help for your problem areas and door prizes!

Join us on Tuesday, July 24th for our summer movie series!  To go along with our book club "Books Became the Movies", we're showing the movies based off four different books.  This time we're showing the movie ased on the Michael Lewis book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" in the Round Room.  Free popcorn and drinks will be available during the FREE movie!

In July, the Down the Rabbit Hole Book Discussion Group will read "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi.  This group will meet on July 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Civic League Room.  Stop by the library to pick up your shared copy of this book.

Join us for our last off-site program of the Summer Reading Club for Rocky Clements' "Show of Wonders".  The performance will be held in two locations during the day on Wednesday, July 25th.  You can catch him at 10 a.m. at the Parker Park Community Center and at 2 p.m. at The Mall at Turtle Creek.

The theme for the teen side of Summer Reading Club is themed "Own the Night".  As Summer Reading Club comes to an end we're wrapping things up with a teen lock-in at the library!  The event will start at 7 p.m. and will end at 7 a.m.  Teens will be entertained with a night of games, trivia, movies and snacks.  This will also be the night the GRAND PRIZE for teens will be handed out.

This is by invitation only, so you must be registered for Teen Summer Reading Club to attend.

To help us end a fun-filled Summer Reading Club, the library will host a Murder Mystery Party.  Library staff members will dress up in costumes to go along with the theme for the party.  Patrons are needed to come to our party and solve the crime!  Prizes will be awarded.  You are also welcome to dress up in costume!  The party will start at 4 p.m. inside the library and will continue after hours.  This is a live action event with a lot of audience participation.

We're ending Summer Reading Club with three chances to see Brian and Terry Kinder in Concert!  Join us on Tuesday, July 31st at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. for some rollicking, interactive good time music for kids and their families.  The event will take place inside the Round Room of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

The Women's Discovery Center is an organization that strives to help women in the community.  One of their most popular service projects is "the closet," which is a collection of professional clothes women can choose from that have been donated by the community.  Faye Cox will lead this Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, August 1st.  Lunch and Learn is a free class offered every Wednesday at noon.  Participants are encouraged to bring in their lunch and get ready to learn!

This class is open for experienced and beginning knitters and those who would like to crochet. This class meets in the library in the non-fiction section. If you're a beginner, don't worry about bringing anything, we'll supply you with needles and yarn.

 Join us on Thursday, August 2nd for Totally Tweens from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to make dog and cat toys!  A representative from the Craighead County Extension Office and 4H will be on hand to help.

This program is for tweens who have completed 4th-6th grades.

On Tuesday, August 7th the Children's Library will host an afternoon of nail painting. The drop-in event will take place from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This event is for children of all ages.

To go along with our book club "Books Became the Movies", we're showing the movies based off four different books.  We will be showing the movie based on the book "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen.  Join us for the FREE movie!  We'll also be providing free drinks and popcorn.

The Children's Library will show a children's movie on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m.  The movie we will show was released in 2012 and is based on a book by Dr. Seuss.  The movie stars the voices of Zac Efron and Taylor Swift.  This film is rated PG.  For more information on this movie contact the Children's Library at 870-935-5133 extension 1120.

Linda Nance is a local author who has worked to get her books published.  You can find some of her works in print - while others can be found in the form of an eBook.  During this Lunch and Learn class, Nance will go over the process of how to publish an eBook.  Lunch and Learn is a free program offered every Wednesday at noon at the library.  Participants aren encouraged to bring in their lunch and prepare to learn!

Children and their families are invited to a drop-in event at the library.  Board games for all ages will be on hand including Checkers, Hungry Hungry Hippo, Chairs, Battleship and others.  This drop-in event will take place from 10:00 a.m. until Noon in the Children's Library.

Slashed t-shirts, tied t-shirts, painted t-shirts... "altered" t-shirts!  Teens (age 13 to 17-years-old) will be making their own t-shirt creations on Friday, August 10th.
