If it's not evident enough from the warm temperatures, budding trees and pollen in the air: spring is here!  During this time of year, many are planting their flower beds and getting their gardens ready.  Last month we talked about container gardening wtih Eric Grant from the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Office.  This Lunch and Learn will focus on composting!

This Lunch and Learn class will feature Judith Long from Legacy Landfill.  Long will talk about what you can and cannot recycle.  She will also talk about things we can do with some "trash" to reuse it in our own homes.  This class starts at noon in the Round Room of the library.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch into the library with them.

We've had an increase in the number of people requesting help with their resume so we will be offering a series of "resume workshops" in the month of November.  If they are successful, we will continue this into the new year!  The two hour session will be a drop-in for those who would like help.  We can review your resume for content, organization, formatting and consistency.  For more information call the information desk at 870-935-5133 extension 1121.

The semi-annual Friends of the Library book sale will take place the last weekend of the month of April.  This sale is "officially" held on Saturday and Sunday.  However, this year, the Friends will hold a special "preview" sale for members and those who join the day of the event.  The price to join the friends is $10.  You can join at the door.

The sale features paper back and hard back books in fiction and non-fiction.  Most books are gently used, while others are practically new.

With gas prices on the rise this summer, and no vacation in sight we have another option for you!  Plan a "staycation" in Jonesboro.  Jonesboro Parks and Recreation interim director Wixson Huffstetler will lead our program on Wednesday, May 2nd.  Lunch and Learn is a FREE program held every wednesday at noon. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch in and learn about a different topic.
